3 Best Content Creation Tips from Top Bloggers

Any blogger will tell you that having new and engaging content is the key to being successful. You could be the best writer in the world, but if your content is lacking, your following will be too. As a blogger, it can be a challenge to stay ahead of the times and continually produce fresh, current content that your readers will actually enjoy. So how do some of the biggest bloggers out there do it? Here are three tips from top bloggers to help you create great content.

Do Something New

Here’s the thing: It can seem like everything has been done before. So how do you take your content from just another piece on repetitive political issues or recurring social media trends to a top-rated article? To get out there and become a successful blogger influencer, you have to have unique content. General audience content will not be successful. You must pin down a semi-original, or at least not oversaturated, niche to write in. By doing this, you will also be able to incorporate more specific keyword phrases that will allow for higher site traffic.

Have a Social Media Strategy

If you want to be a successful blogger, preparation is another key element. Social media is an advertising medium that is growing in force. It allows content creators to share content, advertise their expertise, and network with other bloggers as well as potential customers. What it also offers is a way to schedule fresh content and renew “evergreen” pieces.

Adam Connell, a content marketing expert, says the first thing he does when new content goes live is set it in his repost schedule. By planning out your social media strategy, you can easily see what content will be posted when and plan accordingly. Connell talks about using a homemade spreadsheet to plan out postings and reposting. Some social media sites even provide their own form of content planning that you can use at no cost.

Write for the Reader

It is important to remember that blogs need to be geared toward writing that the reader will enjoy, not just content you want to write about. If you don’t find success writing about certain topics, you should think about narrowing your niche to the topics that have been successful. It’s OK to tweak your brand as you go. While you want to narrow your focus to a topic that’s not oversaturated and speaks to you as a writer, it can be helpful to start with a broad topic and then pin down what your readers find engaging.

Many factors play a part in successful content creation. By following these tips, you will be on your way to a great content creation routine. Remember that each niche will have a different writing style that will be successful in front of a certain target audience. Creating relevant, engaging content can be difficult because it is an ever-changing market, but with determination and forethought, you can master it.
