During this time, Nitin met Raghav Verma through a mutual friend who too was employed in the Opera Solutions, US. They both had the sparking idea and finally set off to bring their dream into reality. They left their job which was a well enough decent paying job and started working dedicatedly 24/7 for their new venture. Nitin Saluja handles the product development department along with Supply and logistics whereas Raghav manages the marketing and business development. They named the startup – CHAAYOS and the very first outlet was inaugurated in November 2012 in Gurugram. This startup led to other great chai startups like Mr Tea Franchise.

Mostly chai is something and accepted as a product from the marketer’sperspective as simple as that. However in Chaayos, the chai lovers are offered total 25 types of tea which can be personalized in 12k different methods.

Chaayos – A financially sound startup

Similar to any new startup Chaayos was also in need of funding in order to accumulate funds in order to nature the business operations and Zishaan Hayath agreed to raise funds for him in the angel round. You will be surprised to know that Chaayos was able to raise a total funding of 5 million dollars from the TGM also known as Tiger Global Management.

Chaayos bets that the next era of growth will be backed by the ideology of tea deliveryservices which will be perfectly packed tea combinationwhich would be sold in its cafe and the online market spaces such as Snapdeal or Amazon. Chaayos is able to sell more than 9,800 cups of tea in a single month and is aiming to sell of 4 million cups within a timeframe of 18 months (1.5 years) with an aim to head for the prime provider for chai. For the same purpose they have collaborated with numerous logistics firms to get their chai delivered in just 15 minutes.

Eventuality

It really takes something to bring an idea into reality which is not impossible as Raghav and Nitin have taken it to a level one could have only thought of. But they said for them it’s just the beginning. They are all prepared with the brand new ideas with out of the box thought concepts and striving hard to blend the new idea with the already existing ones. There is no second opinion that they too will have to compete with rivals in the market such as Chai Thela and Chai Point with whom they are having a fierce but a healthy competition.
